About EPiC

EPiC, the Social Entrepreneurs Network, was formed in October 2006 to meet a need that was originally identified by Unltd award winners who believed that there was much that social entrepreneurs could do to support each other. This is especially important as social entrepreneurs often work alone with few opportunities to share their visions and discuss issues that affect them.

Although arising out from meetings of Unltd Award Winners and the initial setup was funded by an Unltd Award the network is for anybody who considers themselves to be a social entrepreneur.

The Network was formed following a consultation event on 18/10/2006 which helped formulate a plan for the first year. The notes about the consultation and the Initial Development Plan can be found on our website: www.epicbdp.net

The Training and Learning Company

The Training and Learning Company has offered to act as the legal structure for the Network until such time as the Network itself decides if it wants to be separately constituted. This will enable the Network to benefit from the charitable status of TLC and facilitate applications for funding and finance, which would otherwise have been problematic.
